Phung Viet Bac is experienced in academic research, science education, and administration of a science-based educational program. She obtained her Ph.D. at Kanazawa University, Japan. Her research interest includes Computational Materials Science and Simulation.
She has more than 10 years of experience in doing research in Vietnamese and Japanese Institutions.
From 2010 – 2013, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST). She also spent 4 years as a specially appointed assistant professor at the University of Fukui, Japan before serving as the R&D promotion specialist and researcher at VNU Vietnam Japan University.
From 2018 – present, at Vietnam Japan University, she is also carrying out the research projects in Computational Materials Design (low dimensional materials, energy storage materials) for sustainable development.
