Ms. Khanh-Linh Tao is the System Operations Manager of the VinFuture Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Science, Vietnam National University (VNU).
Before joining the VinFuture Foundation, Ms. Tao gained extensive experience in sustainability and product management systems, including PLM, SAP, and TOPS Pro, within the garment and textile industries. From 2021 to 2023, she was a key member of the global packaging team at HanesBrands, a leading US manufacturer of innerwear and activewear. In this role, she collaborated with teams from the US, Japan, India, Honduras, and Thailand, driving initiatives such as packaging optimization and digital transformation in garment labeling. In recognition of her contributions to continuous improvement, Ms. Tao was awarded the Excellence Staff Certificate by HanesBrands in 2022.
In 2023, Ms. Tao was awarded a fully-funded scholarship by Vietnam-Japan University (VJU), a member of Vietnam National University (VNU), to pursue a Master’s degree in Climate Change and Development, expanding her expertise in climate change mitigation and adaptation. She is expected to complete the program and obtain Master’s degree in June 2025. During this time, she also worked as an ESG and sustainability consultant, helping companies navigate their green transformations and sustainability reporting. A passionate nature enthusiast, Ms. Tao’s research focuses on wetland ecosystems, especially blue carbon – the carbon stored in coastal and marine ecosystems that act as natural carbon sinks. Her current work explores the role of mangrove forests in coastal protection, supporting local livelihoods, and their capacity for carbon storage and sequestration.
In 2024, Ms. Tao interned in Japan, studying the impacts of environmental issues and climate change in the Asia-Pacific region, while collaborating with experts from Ibaraki University, University of Tsukuba, and other government bodies.
Ms. Tao aspires to become a scientist and advocate for sustainable development, inspiring others to act and make a positive environmental impact.
