Topic: Resilient Agriculture Session in the New Normal

Climate change affects agriculture and the agricultural economy as a “new normal” for the socio-economic system of each country and the whole world. For agriculture to develop sustainably in this new normal, it is necessary to invest systematically in science-technology and socio-economic policies.

1. Professor Pamela Ronald –   Distinguished Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology and the Genome Center,  University of California, Davis, Director of grass genetics at the Joint Bioenergy Institute in Emeryville, California, US.
2. Professor Claudia Wagner-Riddle- School of Environmental Sciences, University of Guelph, Canada.
3. Professor Josse De Baerdemaeker –  Former President of EurAgEng, the European Association for Engineering Agriculture.
4.  Dr. Van Schepler-Luu – Plant Pathology and Host Plant Resistance at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI).

The “Science for Life” Symposium assembles and connects the Vietnamese sci-tech community with local and international top scientists, policymakers, entrepreneurs. The symposium will have three consecutive 90-minute panels, each focusing on one of the following critical issues for the world: ​​sustainable agriculture in the new normal, advanced materials for future energy storage, and personalized therapy in cancer treatment. The panel on each of these topics will focus on the pressing global issues, the practical solutions, and predictions of key changes in people’s lives through the contributions of science and technology.
