Astronomy, one of the oldest and most fundamental scientific disciplines, has yielded profound insights into the nature of space, time, and matter, while serving as a catalyst for significant technological innovations. In recent years, the rapid growth of data from ground and space-based observatories has established artificial intelligence (AI) as an indispensable tool in modern astronomy, enabling scientists to explore the universe with unprecedented efficiency and detail.

Diving into the immense potential residing at the intersection of astronomy and AI, the VinFuture Foundation is collaborating with the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to host the InnovaTalk webinar on “Astronomy, AI, and Societal Impact”. This webinar will delve into the growing interdependence of astronomy and AI, and examine their potential transformative impact on both scientific advancement and broader societal implications.
The webinar is chaired by Dr. Vanessa McBride, the Science Director and Acting Head of the Centre for Science Futures at International Science Council (France). Joining her on the esteemed panel are:
  • Distinguished speaker: Dr. Tomasz Kacprzak from the Swiss Data Science Center, Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland)
  • Special Guest: Assoc. Prof. Pham Ngoc Diep, from the Center for Astrophysics and Science Exploration (CASE), Vietnam National Space Center (VNSC), Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST, Vietnam)
