The inaugural “Call for Nominations” webinar of the 2025 VinFuture Prize has successfully concluded, drawing impressive global participation from nearly 300 international scientists and experts from over 50 countries across five continents.
After 4 years of operation, the VinFuture Prize has witnessed a remarkable growth in nominations, increasing nearly threefold – from 599 projects in the first year to 1,469 projects in the 2024 award season. To kick off its fifth award season, the VinFuture Foundation is delighted to introduce the first “Call for Nominations” webinar for the 2025 VinFuture Prize. This session will not only provide comprehensive guidance on the nomination process but will also feature distinguished scientific leaders who will share their insights on advancing impactful research.
This informative session brought together an esteemed panel of distinguished scientists, including Prof. Sir Richard Henry Friend (University of Cambridge, UK), Chair of the VinFuture Prize Council and chair of this webinar. Joining him as the co-chair of the webinar was Prof. Soumitra Dutta, University of Oxford (UK), Member of the VinFuture Prize Council, and special guest Prof. Yoshua Bengio, Université de Montréal and Mila – Quebec AI Institute (Canada), 2024 VinFuture Grand Prize Laureate, adding to the event’s prestige.
The webinar attracted nearly 1,000 registrations from potential nominators. With the expert guidance of VinFuture Foundation representatives, attendees were presented with a comprehensive overview about the mission and nomination process of the VinFuture Prize.
For the 2025 award season, VinFuture will continue the Top Nominators Recognition program, honoring scientists who have made invaluable contributions to identifying and nominating innovations and technological solutions that have a great impact on humanity for the 2025 VinFuture Prize. This is also an opportunity to foster opportunities for cooperation in developing science and technology in Vietnam.
