In late December 2020, as the world was plunged into unprecedented uncertainty by the COVID-19 pandemic, a bold dream was born in Vietnam: to establish a global science and technology prize that honors breakthroughs which have transformed the lives of billions of people. That dream was initiated by the Chairman of Vingroup and his spouse, grounded in a strong belief that science, when guided by a spirit of service to humanity, can become a driving force for a more sustainable future.
In this eighth episode, we are honored to feature Mr. José Antonio Guridi - UNESCO’s AI consultant who leads AI readiness assessments in Chile, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Cambodia. Dr. Guridi brings a distinctive perspective at the intersection of engineering, governance, and social equity. We are pleased to join him to explore what it truly takes to make AI work for people and society — turning principles of ethics and fairness into real actions that improve human lives.

Therefore, it is significant that a big prize such as the VinFuture Prize is now given in Vietnam, an emerging economy. The 2025 VinFuture “Science for Life” Symposia concluded after three days of forward-looking discussions and cross-disciplinary exchange, held from December 2 to 4, 2025.
From healthcare and education to security and communication, AI is reshaping the systems that define human life — while raising urgent questions around ethics, risk, and global governance. At the VinFuture Symposium “Global Frontiers – AI Ethics and Safety for Humanity”, global experts came together to advance fair, transparent, and responsible pathways toward a truly human-centered AI future.
At the Almaz Convention Center, hundreds of global experts, scientists, and innovators converged for the Inspirational Talks: The Next Breakthrough — the first-ever event kicking off the 2025 VinFuture Sci-Tech Week. Across four distinct fields, four narratives were unveiled:
